An old canal town painted in ink wash: whitewashed houses with dark tiled roofs and stepped gable walls lean over the water, a stone bridge arches over a side canal, willows trail in the drizzle and a two-storey teahouse hangs out its red lanterns. A covered boat sculls slowly across the whole picture, its little bow lantern glowing, while the town's reflection shivers in the rain rings. It follows your clock, from a pale misty morning to blue dusk, when the lanterns and windows light up, and a deep ink night.
