Cyanotype Garden
Ferns, lace flowers and seaweed laid on a sun print, swaying in a breeze
A cyanotype, the old blue sun print: a big fern frond, two heads of Queen Anne's lace and a lacy seaweed lie on paper coated in Prussian blue, printed white where they blocked the sun. Where a leaf lay flat its edge is crisp, where it lifted the edge goes soft, and the thin seaweed lets a little light through, printing pale blue. The plants sway gently as if a breeze crosses the garden table, and the blue slowly deepens and eases as the print develops. Move the mouse to breathe on them and bend them aside; with music on the little florets swell on the beat and the blue deepens with the bass.
