Event Horizon

A black hole bends its burning disc and the stars behind it into light

A black hole hangs in deep space, its accretion disc burning white-gold at the inner edge and cooling to red, the far side of the disc bent up over the shadow by gravity and ringed by a thin photon ring. The stars and a faint nebula behind it stream round the lensed ring as the view drifts, the approaching side of the disc glows brighter, and heat shimmers above it. Move the mouse to shift the view angle; play music and the disc swells with the bass while the photon ring flashes on the beat.
