Joshua Night

The Milky Way arching over a lone Joshua tree in the desert

A real photograph of the Milky Way rising over a Joshua tree in Joshua Tree National Park, brought to life: the stars scintillate as they do in real desert air, more strongly low over the horizon, the glow of distant towns breathes along the skyline and every so often a meteor streaks across the sky. Move the mouse to shift your view past the tree, and click to send a shooting star from the cursor. With music on, the stars sparkle on the beat.
