Moon Jellies

Moon jellyfish drifting under a rippling, sunlit sea surface

Ten metres under an open sea, moon jellyfish pulse slowly through sunlit water. Above them the surface ripples, a bright window of sky dances overhead, and shafts of light and caustics slide across their glassy bells as specks of marine snow drift past on the current. The light follows your clock, from a low golden morning to a midday glare and a silver moonlit night when the plankton glows. Move the mouse to stir the water, swirling the specks and nudging the jellies aside; click and they startle with a pulse. With music on, light runs down their tentacles on the beat.
