A sea mosaic come to life: waves, fish and an octopus in stone and gold glass

A floor mosaic of the sea, laid in thousands of little stone and glass tiles, slowly comes to life: curling waves roll across it, an octopus curls and uncurls its arms, a shoal of fish swims in a line, little ships sail past and dolphins leap between the waves. The tiles never move; the picture moves through them, one tile at a time. Daylight from a window slides across the floor through the day, and at night an oil lamp lights a warm pool on it. Move the mouse to wet the tiles (they darken and gleam, then dry), click to splash, and with music on the fish light up along the line, the gold glass glows with the bass and the octopus's suckers wink on the beat.
