Storm Plains
A supercell over the prairie at sunset, as an art-deco travel poster
A great supercell storm turns over the open prairie at the end of the day, printed like an art-deco travel poster: stacked bands of cloud under a spreading anvil, ruled rain falling from the forward flank, sunrays fanning from the low sun and a lone farm with a red barn, a windmill and a cottonwood. The storm's striations slide round as it rotates, the windmill turns and the wheat waves, and every so often lightning strikes and lights the whole plain for a moment. Click to call down a strike where you click. With music on the cloud glows from within on the bass and the farmhouse windows brighten on the beat.
