Zellige Fountain

A tiled Moroccan courtyard fountain rippling in the shade of an orange tree

Look down into a Moroccan courtyard: a star-shaped fountain of turquoise water sits on a floor of zellige, thousands of little hand-cut glazed tiles in an eight-pointed star pattern, each one catching the sun a little differently. Ripples run out from the bubbling bowl in the middle and sunlight sparkles on the water, while an orange tree overhead throws a swaying, dappled shadow. The light follows your clock, sweeping the shadows round from morning to evening, and at night two pierced brass lanterns scatter stars of light across the tiles. Move the mouse over the water to trail ripples through it; with music on the fountain's jet swells with the bass and the water glitters on the beat.
