This policy covers the website backdrops.baubra.com and the Baubra Backdrops apps for Windows and Mac. The short version: nothing about you is collected, stored or sold.

What the apps send

The apps talk to one server, backdrops.baubra.com, and only to:

fetch the list of backdrops and the backdrop files themselves;
check whether a newer version of the app exists (the download from this site; the Microsoft Store version is updated by the Store instead);
fetch Microsoft's shader compiler once, on first run (Windows).

Each request carries the app's version number, like any web browser carries its name. No account, identifier, hardware ID, usage data, crash report or anything else is sent.

What stays on your device

Your settings (which backdrop is on which screen, speed, colours, sound) are saved in a file on your own computer and never leave it.
Music reaction listens to the sound your computer is already playing, on your computer, to make a backdrop pulse. Nothing is recorded, saved or sent.
Mouse reaction uses the pointer position only to draw ripples and sparks. It is not stored.
The log file the app keeps for troubleshooting stays on your computer. It is never uploaded.

The website

The site has no accounts, no sign-in, no advertising and no analytics scripts. It remembers your sort order and backdrop settings in your browser's local storage, which you can clear at any time. The server keeps the usual short-lived connection details needed to serve pages and to answer, for a few minutes after a download, whether the app has started; nothing is written to a database.

The site is served through Cloudflare, which handles the connection and may process your IP address to deliver the site and block abuse, under Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Children

Because nothing is collected, nothing is collected from children either. The apps and site are suitable for all ages.

If this ever changes, this page will say so, with the date above.
